Pakistan & Xinjiang were absolutely breathtaking, and this trip took us through some incredible landscapes; we met so many friendly Pakistanis from different regions and Uyghurs in Xinjiang. We were treated like celebrities and came across only a handful of travelers, which is mostly what we seek with Johny and Josh's trip: off the beaten path. Johny is a fantastic leader who is able to get everyone is a great go mode and full of humor. Our accommodations were always comfortable, and we ate at a variety of great places and mingled with locals. Our local guides in both countries were friendly, especially Saqib in Pakistan; he went above and beyond to take care of us. The charity aspect of this trip fell short of my expectations. The local partners arranged the charity part of the trip, and it felt like performative charity, which could totally be the norm there, but it wasn't what I expected. The level of engagement during the Uganda trip in 2022 was incredible, so the bar was high. I still enjoyed this trip overall, fun adventures, and meeting up with old friends and making new ones. Johny & Josh's trips attract a certain crowd... adventurous ones that you want to go on trips with again and again. The group camaraderie is always the highlight.

It's always a ton of fun and excitement and thrill traveling with Johny and his buddy Josh. The destinations are always appealing but most of all, it's the friends we make on these trips. A lot of kindred spirits, and it's always a delight to reconnect with old friends on new adventures. Johny & Josh are engaging and make everyone feel like good old friends. The Golden Eagle Festival was really a unique experience that felt intimate and a good blend of foreign visitors and locals. We ate well and had action-packed adventures and cultural experiences every day. : )

Johnny is a fantastic Leader, positive, charismatic, absolutely full of delight and adventure. Our teams mates were strong and engaging; the perfect combination of a trek and. climb into the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea! The arrangements for transportations and bookings were carefree and seamless. Food and accommodations in the highlands were unique and cozy; in PortMoresby they were Safe and elegant. Every aspect of this adventure at the very least exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Johnny Ward and would gladly travel on one of this adventures in the future.

When Johnny told us he was organizing a trip through off limits Russia deep into Siberia to jouney to the coldest place on Earth in the dead of winter I thought that is crazy and bizarre and I gotta do this. And I'm so glad that I went as it was one of his best trips yet. A true adventure in a strange and beautiful land with an awesome travel group of amazing people and kind, funny, hardy Yakut locals. Johnny is a great human which attracts other great humans, add in a remote untraveled destination, throw in -70F temps and stir and you have an epic strange adventure trip, I highly recommend the Oymyakon journey if Johnny decides to run it again.

Incredible!! After 65 countries, ALL THREE I’ve done with Johnny are easily in my top 5! But my recent trip with him to Siberia /Oymyakon/Tomtor (the COLDEST INHABITED PLACE ON EARTH) was truly next level! His trips are always challenging, SAFE, character-building, epic, unusual, and leave you a better person (with better stories) than other experienced travelers. Not to mention, the other crazy-travelers you meet on every trip are fascinating and impressive in their own rights. Amazing people are always on these kind of trips. He and his teams will do everything they can to minimize the challenges/stress, but DO NOT expect a pampered experience nor an easy trip. There are hundreds of other travel services that provide that kind of tepid experience. But none of them will take you to these amazing waaay off the beaten path locations, with unreal fixers and local connections, total confidence, and his trouble-shooting mastery that can get you out of any hiccups that arrive—leaving you only with incredible stories and epic pictures for proof. I would trust my children with him. That should say it all. Only true adventurers should apply, but if that is you, I promise he’ll get you back safely, with amazing experiences, and greater confidence in your own traveling-self than before you left.
